AMES, Iowa -- A public retirement reception will be held on Saturday, June 11, in honor of Florine Swanson, executive director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
The reception is scheduled for 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Iowa 4-H Center, 1991 Peach Ave., Madrid. The program, beginning at 3:30 p.m., will be followed by a barbecue. Families are encouraged to join the celebration and tour the 4-H Center or the Iowa Arboretum.

Letters, stories, photos and other memories are being collected for a memory book. Mementos may be sent to the Iowa 4-H Foundation, Extension 4-H Youth Building, ISU, Ames, Iowa, 50011.
In lieu of gifts, contributions may be made to the Iowa 4-H Congress Endowment to help more youth attend the National 4-H Congress, a youth leadership development conference.
The Iowa 4-H Foundation, a non-profit organization, provides funding opportunities for Iowa's youth. Swanson served as the executive director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation for 18 years.
