Life in Iowa Intern is Working in Plymouth County
AMES, Iowa — Lisa Junck, a senior at Iowa State University majoring in animal science, is working for First National Bank in Le Mars this summer as part of ISU Extension’s Life in Iowa summer intern program.
Junck, whose hometown is Hinton, is helping with general bank duties and activities. She will become familiar with the deposit and loan functions of the bank, working in the bookkeeping, deposit and loan areas on a rotating basis.
Each Iowa State Life in Iowa intern donates 100 hours of time over the summer to a community volunteer project. In addition to her work with the bank, Junck will volunteer with RAGBRAI 2005.
The Life in Iowa program encourages students to stay in Iowa after college graduation by involving them in the communities in which they are working. The interns complement their work experience with classroom learning and service projects that help them experience the people, businesses and organizations that make Iowa a great place to live and work. The program encourages students to develop leadership, ethics and service skills that will help them in the future.
