Hamilton County 4-H Member Receives Lloyd, Inc. 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Hamilton County 4-H member. Jennifer Heeren, Stanhope, received a Lloyd, Inc. 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Lloyd, Inc.

Heeren is the daughter of Richard and Julie Heeren and was a 10-year 4-H member. She served as treasurer, reporter and teen project leader in horses and rabbits of her 4-H club. Heeren participated most actively in the food and nutrition, visual arts, swine, horse and rabbit project areas. She served on her county 4-H council and received top team and individual awards in horse judging at the state level. She was also a member of the top team in a state-level horse quiz bowl.

"4-H has helped me achieve many goals and build character," Heeren said. "The valuable skills that I learned while in 4-H such as communication, leadership, citizenship and responsibility have been a part of my everyday life."

Heeren is a graduate of Iowa State University where she was an active member of the Block & Bridle club. She will be a first-year student in the College of Veterinary Medicine at ISU.
