Tama County 4-H Member Receives Iowa State Fair 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Tama County 4-H member. Zane Harry Wayne Gray, Toledo, received an Iowa State Fair 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Iowa Foundation for Agriculture Advancement.
Gray, a 10-year 4-H member, is the son of Terry and Julie Gray. He has served as president, vice president and treasurer of his 4-H club. Gray has participated most actively in the beef and sheep project areas and has served on his county 4-H council. Gray has conducted a county beef grooming clinic and has exhibited in the 4-H beef show at the Iowa State Fair.
"My 4-H participation has provided me the opportunity to learn and develop my agricultural production and leadership skills while meeting individuals with multiple skills and backgrounds," Gray said. "My 4-H successes have instilled in me a high confidence level."
Gray is a senior at South Tama County High School. He plans to attend Iowa State University and enroll in the animal science/pre-veterinary program.
