AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Cass County 4-H member. Brandon Buffington, Lewis, received an Orscheln 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Orscheln Farm and Home Supply Co., Inc.
Buffington is the son of Bob and Linda Zimmerman. He has served as president, vice president, treasurer and historian of his 4-H club. Buffington is a junior superintendent for the county fair crop show, and has received county awards for beef, swine and crop projects.
"4-H has helped me meet many new people from around the area," Buffington said. "Many of these people have shown me that there are many opportunities in agriculture."
