Clinton County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Clinton County 4-H member. Jeremy Spain, Delmar, received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.

Spain, a 10-year 4-H member, is the son of Larry and Nancy Spain. He has served as vice president and treasurer of his 4-H club. Spain has participated most actively in the beef, bucket/bottle calf, breeding beef, home improvement and citizenship project areas. He served on his county 4-H council and has received a county citizenship award.

"Through my years in 4-H I have learned how to do many things," Spain said. "I started by setting goals and have grown through accomplishing them."

Spain is a senior at Maquoketa Community High School. He plans to attend Northeast Iowa Community College and enroll in the agriculture and computer analyst program.
