Poweshiek County 4-H Member Receives Ralph and Agnes Dostal Memorial 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Poweshiek County 4-H member. Amanda Crawford, Grinnell, received the Ralph and Agnes Dostal Memorial
4-H Scholarship sponsored by the families of Ralph and Agnes Dostal.
Crawford, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Dennis and Renny Crawford. She has served as president, vice president and secretary of her 4-H club. Crawford has participated most actively in the communication, home improvement and child development project areas. She has served on her state and county 4-H councils and was a National 4-H Congress delegate.
"4-H allowed me to discover my passion for public speaking and gave me countless leadership and service opportunities," Crawford said. "Now, I'm majoring in broadcast journalism and am very involved on campus, thanks to the confidence and experience I gained through 4-H."
Crawford is a freshman at Iowa State University where she is studying broadcast journalism. Crawford is a member of Collegiate 4-H and is active in ISU cheerleading, the Student Alumni Leadership Council, Dance Marathon and the ISU President's Leadership Class.
