AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Fayette County 4-H member. Niclas Lansing, West Union, received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.

Lansing has participated most actively in the dairy, swine, woodworking, sheep and wildlife project areas. He served on his state, county and area 4-H councils and his county youth committee. He also attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and Citizenship-Washington Focus conference. Lansing has received a state citizenship project award and a county dairy project award.

"4-H has helped me improve my communication skills and has allowed me to meet many new people and have lots of fun at the same time," Lansing said.
