Emmet County 4-H Member Receives Prestage-Stoecker Farms 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to an Emmet County 4-H member. Eric Kropf, Graettinger, received a Prestage-Stoecker Farms 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Stoecker Farms, Inc.

Kropf, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Ron and Sandy Kropf. He has served as president, vice president and treasurer of his 4-H club. Kropf has participated most actively in the beef, swine, food and nutrition, welding and leadership project areas. He served on his state, county and area 4-H councils and was a National 4-H Congress delegate. He has attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and Citizenship-Washington Focus conference. Kropf has received Danforth “I Dare You" and Ak-Sar-Ben leadership awards and a state welding project award.

"4-H has allowed me to explore many different project areas," Kropf said. "It was in my livestock projects that I developed an interest in animal science, which I’ve selected as my major in college."

Kropf is a senior at Graettinger-Terril High School. He plans to attend Iowa State University to study animal science.
