AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Clinton County 4-H member. Daniel Spain, Delmar, received the Theisen*Home*Auto 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Theisen Supply, Inc.
Spain, a 10-year 4-H member, is the son of Steve and Paula Spain. He has served as vice president of his 4-H club. Spain has participated most actively in the market beef, breeding beef, citizenship and self-determined project areas. He has served on his area 4-H council and has received county horse and citizenship project awards.
"I have had great leadership and experience from my years in 4-H. From attending 4-H meetings to county and state fairs, there was always someone there teaching me something," Spain said. "I feel the years in 4-H will help make me more successful in college and in my future career."
Spain is a senior at Maquoketa High School. He plans to attend Marshalltown Community College to study sustainable and entrepreneurial agriculture.
