Webster County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Webster County 4-H member. Alex Lundgren, Lehigh, received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.
Lundgren, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Todd and Kay Lundgren. He has served as president, treasurer and historian of his 4-H club. Lundgren has participated most actively in the aerospace, beef, citizenship, welding and computers project areas. He has served on his county 4-H council and youth committee. He has attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and the Citizenship-Washington Focus conference. Lundgren was also the Webster County Fair king and a counselor for junior 4-H camp.
"4-H has given me the opportunity to learn new skills and has given me the challenges to show a lot of growth in many areas of my life," Lundgren said. "Through 4-H I have realized what I want to do after I graduate and that is to go back to what I grew up with: agriculture."
Lundgren is a senior at Southeast Webster and ICCC Charter High School. He plans to attend Iowa Central Community College and Iowa State University to study agriculture systems technology and agricultural business.
