Scott County 4-H Member Receives Paul 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Scott County 4-H member. Mandy Meyer, Stockton, received the Paul 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Iowa 4-H Foundation and Henry and Mary Martin Paul.
Meyer, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Kerry and Dawn Meyer. She has served as president, vice president and photographer of her 4-H club. Meyer has participated most actively in the clothing, beef, self-determined, and food and nutrition project areas. She has been a member of the area 4-H council and participated in clothing selection. Meyer has exhibited the reserve grand champion and the champion carcass market beef at the Scott County Fair.
"4-H has given me a solid foundation of hard work and strong morals," Meyer said. "4-H has kept my family close and has taught me leadership skills that I will forever use in my future."
Meyer is a senior at Durant High School. She plans to attend Iowa State University to study apparel merchandising and journalism.
