Marion County 4-H Member Receives Alumni 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Marion County 4-H member. Andrew Knight, Pella, received the Alumni 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarship Fund.

Knight, a five-year 4-H member, is the son of Dan and Jodi Knight. He has participated most actively in the photography, art, computers, poultry, dogs and communication project areas both at the state and county level. He is a member of the Iowa 4-H Technology Team and attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference. He also served as secretary of his 4-H club.

"4-H has opened new opportunities for me by building on my communication skills, technology experience and artistic talents," Knight said. "Without my involvement in 4-H, I don't believe I would have gotten as far as I am today."

Knight is a senior at Pella Community High School. He plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa to study computer science.
