AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Delaware County 4-H member. Jessica Tekippe, Manchester, received the Theisen Home•Farm•Auto 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Theisen Supply, Inc.

Tekippe, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Dan and Mary Tekippe. She has served as president, secretary, reporter and historian of her 4-H club. Tekippe has participated most actively in the dairy, crop production, welding, clothing and communication project areas. She served on her county 4-H council and county youth committee. Tekippe has received the state dairy project award and was a dairy judging champion and dairy quiz bowl champion. She also has attended National 4-H Congress and the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.

"4-H has helped me build a solid leadership foundation that will stand strong when I meet the pressures of life," Tekippe said. "My strong involvement in dairy will allow me to be an industry leader in the coming years."
