Dallas County 4-H Member Receives Orscheln 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Dallas County 4-H member. Trisha Bruecken, Waukee, received an Orscheln 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Orscheln Farm & Home Supply Co., Inc.
Bruecken, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Diane and John Bruecken. She has served as president and treasurer of her 4-H club. Bruecken has participated most actively in the food and nutrition, home décor, communication, rabbits and visual arts project areas. She served on her county 4-H council and has attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference. Bruecken has received a county rabbit award and participated in 4-H communications projects at the Iowa State Fair.
"4-H has taught me many things, but the most important is the motto 'Make the best better,' which I have applied in all areas of my life," Bruecken said.
Bruecken is a senior at Waukee High School. She plans to attend Iowa State University and study family and consumer science.
