Clinton County 4-H Member Receives Tubbs 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Clinton County 4-H member. Jovon Eberhart, Delmar, received the Tubbs 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Ed Tubbs of Maquoketa.

Eberhart, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Joseph and DaVonne Eberhart. She has served as president, vice president, secretary and historian of her 4-H club. Eberhart has participated most actively in the photography, clothing, visual arts, health and bucket/bottle calf project areas. She has served as secretary for her county 4-H council and attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference. Eberhart received state project awards in photography and communication and the Danforth "I Dare You" leadership award. Eberhart is a State of Iowa Scholar and a Girl Scout Gold award winner.

"4-H has inspired me to share leadership with people of all ages and it has given me the opportunity to become more active through citizenship projects," Eberhart said. "I have had the opportunity to meet and work with people in different organizations. Most importantly, 4-H has encouraged me to use my gifts, talents and resources wisely."

Eberhart is a senior at Maquoketa High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to attend Drake University to major in pharmacy.
