Audubon County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to an Audubon County 4-H member. Alise Meyers, Carroll, received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.

Meyers, a 10-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Raymond and Sharon Meyers. She has served as president, secretary and junior leader of her 4-H club. Meyers has participated most actively in the horse and clothing selection project areas. She has been nominated for an outstanding record keeping award and is a Junior Horse Superintendent at the Audubon County Fair. Meyers has participated in area 4-H horse shows, AkSarBen and was the Audubon Saddle Club queen.

"4-H has helped me gain leadership abilities and has taught me organizational skills," Meyers said. "My future plan of working with horses was shaped by my participation in the 4-H shows and activities."

Meyers, a recent graduate of Kuemper Catholic High School, plans to attend Kirkwood Community College to study horse science and technology.
