ISU Offers Ag Drainage Research Field Day
Those interested in agricultural drainage and agricultural drainage wells are invited to a field day Thursday, June 30, at 5:30 p.m. at the research site near Gilmore City. The meeting is free and will include a light supper prepared by the Pocahontas County Cattlemen’s Association.
The program will address drainage water quality, nitrate-removal from wetlands and crop production. Research highlights and findings from the past 16 years will be presented. In addition, attendees will learn about future research projects including examining controlled drainage and the potential water quality and crop benefits from this practice, and a new research and demonstration project in the area related to controlled drainage and nitrate-removal wetlands.
The site is located two miles west of Gilmore City on Highway 3, one mile north on 320th Avenue and then one-half mile west on 510th Street. For more information, contact Matt Helmers at (515) 294-6717 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Nancy Jenson at (712) 335-3103 or email@example.com.
