Joint Iowa-Minnesota Commercial Manure Applicator Training
AMES, Iowa -- Commercial or custom manure applicators who need to meet certification requirements in both Iowa and Minnesota should plan to attend the Jan. 6, 2006, commercial manure satellite uplink held in Nobles County or Mower County, Minn. This workshop will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m. to meet the regulatory requirements for both Iowa and Minnesota. Joint training will not be offered at any Iowa sites in 2006.
The program will cover the regulatory requirements of both Iowa and Minnesota, the economics of hauling manure, biosecurity and human health issues, and land application issues. Applicators should plan to arrive prior to 9 a.m. to register for the workshop. Applicators who need to meet certification requirements in both states will also need to pay certification fees in both states, however there is no fee to attend the workshop.
The Nobles County workshop will be held at the Nobles County Government Center in Worthington, Minn., and the Mower County workshop will be held at the Mower County Courthouse in Austin, Minn.
