Iowa Community Tree Steward Program Offered in South Central Iowa
AMES, Iowa -- This spring, Iowa State University Extension Forestry and Horticulture is offering the Iowa Community Tree Steward Program to the residents of Jasper, Marion, Mahaska and Poweshiek counties.
The Iowa Community Tree Steward Program is intended for citizens and professionals who wish to learn more about trees and tree care. The course consists of six hands-on classes that cover tree identification, tree selection, landscape planning, pruning, planting, disease and insect management and hazard tree assessment.
The classes will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday evenings starting May 17. The cost is $30 per person and the registration deadline is April 30. Enrollment is limited to 35 participants.
