Iowa Community Tree Steward Program Offered in Northwest Iowa
AMES, Iowa -- This spring, Iowa State University Extension Forestry and Horticulture is offering the Iowa Community Tree Steward Program to the residents of Cherokee, O'Brien, Plymouth and Sioux counties.
The Iowa Community Tree Steward Program is intended for citizens and professionals who wish to learn more about trees and tree care. The course consists of six hands-on classes that cover tree identification, tree selection, landscape planning, pruning, planting, disease and insect management and hazard tree assessment.
The classes will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on Monday evenings starting May 16. The cost is $30 per person and the registration deadline is April 30. Enrollment is limited to 35 participants.
