What is camping?

Camping is, slimy, starry, crawly, rainy, busy, swimmy, itchy, backpacky, funny times in the great outdoors! Camping can be a lot of work, but it can also be a great adventure, that cannot be gotten anywhere else.

Go To Camp!!
Plan on going to camp this summer! Summers are too fun to waste sitting in front of the TV or computer! Why not go canoeing, hiking, or fishing?

What projects or exhibits can I do with camping?

• Why not develop an interactive exhibit that demonstrates how to set up and take down a tent (even in the rain!) This could be an educational presentation or a working exhibit.
• Cooking in the outdoors is another challenging project. This could be an educational presentation.
• Can you start a fire with just one match? Try it! Make a poster showing how you did it.
• Can pizza be cooked over a campfire? Find out!
• What about a cake? You pick the problem and find the solutions to many of the challenges associated with camping!
• Investigate and learn about camping opportunities, resources and skills. Options: local, county, or state camps; family camps; special interest camps.
