Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking qualified candidates for a Field Specialist I with a joint appointment within Human Sciences and Community & Economic Development that will focus on Extension engagement and education with Latino youth, families, businesses and communities. This position will also provide educational opportunities and programs, consultation, and technical assistance in the areas of human sciences, leadership development and community capacity building. Additional responsibilities include the development of program materials and the provision of staff and volunteer training, as well as help develop educational models that may be used by the Extension system to effectively build relationships with Latino youth, families, businesses and communities. In addition, the incumbent will serve in part as the West Liberty Chamber of Commerce Director to work closely to coordinate with all local businesses and governmental bodies to help accomplish the shared vision to improve community prosperity, standard of living and quality of life through planning and development.

The successful candidate will be able to develop partnerships and collaborations with appropriate agencies, associations and organizations to implement program activities, have strong organizational, facilitation and communications skills, and be able to pay close attention to detail. The candidate will also have the ability to prioritize multiple ongoing tasks concurrently to ensure immediate deadlines are met, as well as having exceptional analytical, public relations, and written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively represent and deliver ISU Human Sciences and Community Economic Development Extension and Outreach educational opportunities and programs.    See Vacancy Details to apply for this position.
