Children, Youth and Families at Risk Program
September 30, 2014

The Muscatine County Extension Council is seeking a qualified individual to carry out CYFAR Grant responsibilities for a five-year period. 

In Year 1, begin planing, developing partnerships, and provide representation on the project's steering committee of community members.  Years 2-5, identify and work with 15 new families each year, as well as serve as the Community Site Program Coordinator and Community Site Success Coach.

National 4-H Week

Muscatine County Extension Office

The Muscatine County Extension Council is seeking a qualified individual to provide executive director leadership for the organization as its next County Extension Director. Primary job responsibilities of this Regular part-time potential to be full-time position include educational program planning and delivery, budget and facilities management, and day-to-day supervision of staff. Will directly coordinate agricultural and natural resources programming, as well as community economic development, and Human Sciences programming. Individual is also responsible for marketing and public relations efforts, including positively representing Muscatine County Extension to an array of community partners.

Emerald Ash Borer
September 16, 2014

The Emerald Ash Borer is a small wood-boring beetle that attacks and kills ash trees and has now been confirmed in 14 counties in the state of Iowa--Muscatine County being one of them. Iowa DNR, IDALS, and ISU Extension held an informational meeting to discuss signs and options for Emerald Ash Borer infestation.
