Juntos: Together for a better Education

The goal of the Muscatine Juntos Project is to help students achieve high school graduation and access higher educaiton.

For restaurants, foodservice managers and workers, ServSafe® is the food safety certification course developed by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and is one of several recognized by the Conference on Food Protection. The 8-hour course concludes with a certification exam. Iowa regulations require the person in charge of a foodservice to have demonstrated knowledge of food safety principles; ServSafe® certification is one way to demonstrate this knowledge.

Area Junior 4-H Camp

Muscatine County Junior 4-Her's in grades 4-6 will join together with other Junior 4-H'ers from Eastern Iowa for two days of camp, June 10-11, 2016. 4-Hers will make new friends from other counties, build skills, and have FUN! The cost includes three meals, overnight stay, canoeing, swimming, snacks and other camping activities. Registration deadline is Monday, May 16.

Eastern Iowa 4-H Project Workshop

Back by popular demand and new and improved is the Eastern Iowa 4-H Project Workshop. The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, at North Scott High School, 200 S 1st Street, Eldridge, Iowa. The day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:15 p.m. Costs are $15 for 4-H'ers, $20 for non 4-Hers, and $5 for adults. Lunch is included. Attendees will be able to select two workshops to attend. Sign up early so you can be sure to attend the workshops that interest you.

Marla Maas-2015 4-H Hall of Fame
September 15, 2015

Marla Mass, from Muscatine County has been inducted into the 2015 4-H Hall of Fame. .  She was presented a certificate of recognition by the Iowa 4-H Foundation at the 4-H Exhibits Building at the Iowa State Fair. Marla Mass’s first experience with 4-H began as a nine year old when she joined the Wapsie Best 4-H club.  Little did she know the impact 4-H would have on her life. A record breaking 125 Iowa 4-H volunteers from 91 counties were inducted.

Muscatine County Extension welcomes Krista Regennitter as she  has joined the Muscatine County Extension staff on December 15, 2014, as the new County Extension Director. 

Krista formerly was with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program at the Muscatine Community Y.
