Branding 2.0

I found this Mashable article on Branding very interesting. I'm not a branding or marketing expert and while I may not recommend the methods discussed in the article, I do think it does a good job of suggesting new engaging methods of reaching and creating clientele.

Collaboration MindMapping

We have been using Adobe's (Macromedia's) Breeze web conferencing software for online collaboration for about 18 months. It is a great system, but like every web conferencing system I've seen, I would l really like to see some new collaboration tools - other than the normal presentation, polling, chat and video/audio.

Giffy could be one of these tools. This is a Flash-based online Mind Mapping tool. I haven't seen how it works, just ready a good review.

Since Breeze is based in Flash, I would love a group Mind Mapping tool like Giffy.

Blog Clock

Hey, want a clock on your blog? I added one using ClockLink. Yeah, I'm not sure why I added it, but it was fun and easy.

To mend and defend...

OK, maybe I am a geek? No, I don't play the latest computer games until 2:00 AM, but last week I spent almost every night watching "Reboot", a wonderful cartoon developed in the 90's about the characters living and surviving within a computer system. The graphics are great. The characters are cool. The story is korny and fun.

And yes, I do own the DVDs of the 3rd season. In this season, Bob, a Guardian who protects the computer from two Viruses (Megabyte and his sister Hexadecimal) is tricked and exciled into the Net. The story follows Enzo Matrix and his friend AndrAIa who go out to the Net in search of Bob and then bring him home to defeat Megabyte.

The show is pretty old now, not sure there is an official web site anymore, but you can check out the characters here - http://uts.cc.utexas.edu/~ifex534/characters.html.

You can order seasons three and four on Amazon. If you have kids and like computers, check it out.

KrazyDad's Colr Pickr is Kool!

I really love this application. Its fun and visual. I like the options to choose different types of images in addition to colors. If Extension develops a photo repository, we should investigate the tagging and API protocols. There is a lot of discussion regarding the protocols and tagging options and I'm not sure how complicated/simplistic it is to implement, but it is way kool.
