I don't have any experince using socratic teaching, but I ran across this essay about using it to teach binary numbers. I thought it was interesting... read down to the dialogue.

I think HR could benefit from this process. Or at least I might understand their reasoning a little better.
This comes from the Creating Passionate Users blog. Kathy Sierra is highligting some of the events at SXSW.
From Jason Fried of 37signals:
"Make it up as you go along. You're in a much better place to make a decision when you're in it, than when you're planning."When questioned about whether the 'no-planning' notion was a nice utopian vision, but not practical in larger development worlds:
"I think it is MORE utopian to think you can plan everything in advance."
"We don't use functional specs... we use stories."
This is a scary concept which I think needs to be embraced. I don't believe he intends for you to discard planning completely, but to tailor your development strategy to allow the project to evolve and change as you progress. Not much more to say at this point... I'm still reading some materials that is helping me form an opinion - which I need to reconcile with my own experience.
This report on sleeping positions tells me I'm a StarFish... it goes on to say I would make a good friend because I'm willing to listen and help. My wife thinks it just means I snore. She said something else, but I wasn't really paying attention.
This rocks... just a little peanut butter on top.
But don't get the peant butter version of Oreo cookies - not the same thing. Too sweet.

Could it be the term stick has been taken too literally? Could be. I do not think I will buy one, I would just lose it in the woods.
This week I lost the battle.
Sometimes you don't even know your buttons exist until they're pushed.
Intervention?
Considering the first "FUS" support group. Yeah... that would be fun.
