Seattle Space Needle

Seattle Space Needle, originally uploaded by floyddean.

OK, I took the dive and created a Flickr account. This is an image that I took while in Seattle at CYFAR 2004. I have a few other pics with friends, but I need to figure out how to create an album.

Also, I used a new paint program, Paint.NET to resize the images. Works very nicely.

Cool Flash Slideshow Tool

Deb Coates sent me a link to this tool - http://www.slideshowpro.net/index.php. Very nice tool for developing image slideshow using Flash. You need Macromedia Flash MX 2004, but it sounds pretty easy to use and once you have it implemented, it is all data driven by XML or an RSS feed from Flickr.

I really like the quality of the images and the user interface, specially the popup menu. I also like the tie to Flickr RSS. Pretty cool.

20 Years...

About 24 years ago I met a very pretty girl with beautiful big brown eyes.

20 years ago she married me.

She is still here - Yeah me!

I don't necessarily believe in "love at first sight", but I'm still struck by the immediate connection I felt for her when we first met.

Hort Fun

I ran across this new fad on Gizmodo yesterday. Cute. I wonder if I can keep them alive a little longer than I do my other plants?

Application Wikis

Is the plural of wiki "wikis" or "wikies"... I'm not sure.

Regardless, I ran across a new company that has a new service that is very intriguing to me.

http://www.jotspot.com/ has developed a new service that is in beta now for developing wikis for specific applications. I'm not a wiki expert. I've played with them and seem a few really need implementations. But I've also considered them limited in their application. However, I think JotSpot may be on to something big. Using wikis to share the development of information and applications. With the ability to attach files, I can begin to see lots of applications.

Blogapy

Well, I've been reading a lot of blogs lately and I've decided to give my blog another try. I've decided I need to take some time every day or so and do a little blogging. You know, chronicle my activities and log some new interesting technologies or toys.

I have lots of interests and my hope is that blogging will help me focus and share some of them. I thought this might be a form of therapy... I'll call "blogapy".

Yes I know, I'll never sustain it.

Maybe not, but I'm back.
