Munchkins & Moolah: Teaching Preschoolers to Share, Save, and Spend

“Munchkins & Moolah: Teaching Preschoolers to Share, Save and Spend” is the title of an online workshop from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. All child care providers and interested parents can participate in the workshop from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. on December 10, 2013.

Children’s understanding of money starts at an early age. “You don’t have to have money to learn about it,” says Sandra McKinnon, extension family life specialist.

This online workshop is a way to learn how to share money fundamentals with preschoolers through fun activities, books, and everyday conversations. Online resources will also be highlighted.

Young children spend many hours with child care providers. “We’ll explore participants’ understanding of and attitude about money and why being a good role model is important,” says McKinnon.
