Farm Leasing Arrangements Meeting in Red Oak

Iowa State University Extension will have a Farm Leasing Arrangements meeting on July 26. The meeting will take place at the ISU Extension office at 9:30 am. There is a $15 registration fee and pre-registration is required.

Leasing meetings are an annual event in southwest Iowa. They provide an opportunity to review of trends in land values and cash rental rates. Each year new topics are introduced. The 2013 leasing meetings will have two new topics, CSR2 and results of the 2012 Farm Leasing Practices Survey.

There will also be a cash lease calculation section helping to illustrate the effects of the expected harvest 2014 crop prices.

"The changes in leasing practices from five years ago were not just a continuation of a trend," says Tim Eggers, ISU Extension Field Agricultural Economist. "Crop share leases, as a percentage of the total, have held steady." Eggers will be the presenter at the July 26 program.

Participants receive the 2013 Farm Leasing Arrangements booklet with 100 pages of ISU Extension leasing resources. To pre-register call the Montgomery County ISU Extension office at 712 623 2592.  Questions can be directed towards Stephanie Langner by calling or emailing
