Emerald Ash Borer Meeting Held on March 19
Page County Extension and Page County Conservation are sponsoring an Emerald Ash Borer meeting on March 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Wibholm Hall on the Page County Fairgrounds. The address for Wibholm Hall is 200 S. 6 St. in Clarinda, Iowa.
The instructors will be Lindsey Barney and Tivon Feeley, Iowa Department of Natural Resources – Forestry, and Brad Riphagen, Trees Forever. They will explain how to identify an ash tree, symptoms and signs of the Emerald Ash Borer, treatment options, replant decisions, and resources available to private landowners.
“There has been much publicity recently about the Emerald Ash Borer,” said Barney. “This meeting will provide practical information to clear up misconceptions about the insect and to prepare people to make decisions.”
The Emerald Ash Borer meeting is offered at no cost. Master Gardeners will receive continuing instruction credits.
Register by March 17 to receive educational materials and refreshments. Call Page County Extension at 712-542-5171 or toll free at 877-596-7243.
