Creating Special Moments with Infants and Toddlers workshop

“Creating Special Moments with Infants and Toddlers” is the title of a workshop being presented by Iowa State University Extension & Outreach. Child care providers and interested parents and grandparents can participate in the workshop on Wednesday, November 6, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Carson Community Center, 306 S. Commercial St., in Carson.
Sandra McKinnon, ISU Extension family life program specialist, says, “Special moments should occur more often than celebrating children’s birthdays or when developmental milestones are reached.”
“Routines, such as feeding, diaper changes, or responding to cries, are important to infants and toddlers because it helps them to feel safe and secure. This workshop focuses on changing routine tasks into special moments that you share with each child. These special moments are more than just fun. They are some of the most important things that you can do to help your child to develop socially and emotionally,” explains McKinnon.
