Child Care Provider Trainings Scheduled
Child care providers working in Cass, Mills, and Montgomery Counties are invited to three upcoming professional development opportunities in Red Oak, Iowa. The workshops are:
Color Me Healthy- Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 - 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County Extension Office, 400 Bridge Street, Red Oak, IA. Thisworkshop will address the health benefits of the fruits and vegetables color groups, plus introduce activities for preschoolers to increase recognition and encourage acceptance of fruits and vegetables.
Planning Your Financial Future- Tuesday, April 15, 2014 – 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County Extension Office, 400 Bridge Street, Red Oak, IA. You work hard for your money. Learn ideas for managing your money by setting financial goals, reducing expenses, increasing savings, raising your income, and managing debt.
The Arts and Nature – Saturday, April 26th, 2014 – 9:00 am to 12 noon at the Anderson Conservation Area, 2059 190th St., Red Oak, IA. Part of the Nature Explore series from the Arbor Day Foundation, this workshop will help participants discover engaging art experiences that help children make deeper connections with the world around them. Also experience the Look-Move-Build-Sketch planning tool.
Pre-registration for the workshops is required. Providers may choose one, any two or all three workshops for up to a total of 7 hours of licensing credit. Providers are to sign up for each workshop a week before the session via the Training Registry at https://ccmis.dhs.state.ia.us/TrainingRegistry.
Each workshop is taught by approved ISU Extension and Outreach program specialists.
Due to generous funding from Boost4 Families Early Childhood Area the event is free to providers serving Cass, Mills, and Montgomery County. Support is also provided by the ISU Extension and Outreach offices in Cass, Mills, and Montgomery Counties, and Iowa Child Care Resource and Referral.
