Healthy relationships are a vital piece of human health and well-being. There is convincing evidence that strong relationships can lead to lower levels of stress and a longer life. Children growing up in a home where there is a healthy, stable couple relationship also have fewer behavioral and emotional problems and perform better in school, says Kim Brantner, a human sciences specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
