Monroe County NEST Program

The NEST is a free program that helps prepare pregnant mothers for the arrival of their baby and mothers of children up to 5 years of age.  The program encourages early entry into the healthcare system, education and awareness.  By enrolling in the NEST program you are doing something wonderful for yourself and your child.  The NEST allows you to earn points that you "spend" like money at the NEST store.

Points can be earned by going to prenatal appointments, going to postpartum appointments, attending educational and nutrition classes offerend weekly through the NEST program.  The points allow clients to get new items such as diapers, clothing, bottles, shampoo, lotion, etc., free of charge.

NEST classes are held 6:00-7:00 pm on Mondays and 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays in the Monroe County Extension Office in Albia.  This is not an income based program.  Anyone wishing to obtain more information can call Julie Foreman at the Monroe County Extension Office, 641-932-5612 or stop by the Extension Office at 219 B Ave West, Albia.
