Chelsea and Brooke

The Southeast Iowa State University Extension Area  held their award application interviews on Saturday, March 1st at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Fairfield.  The areas that were open to members were Iowa State Technology Team, National Congress, State 4-H Council, National Conference and State Project Recognition.  Applicants were current 4-H members in 9th-12th grade this school year and those counties with representatives were VanBuren, Keokuk, Henry, Mahaska, Washington and Monroe.  Monroe County had 2 Senior Level 4-H Members complete the appropriate support material and attend the interview event.  The evaluation criteria was based upon the 4-H members experiences, level of expertise, citizenship, leadership and high remarks were attainable through their personal poise and confidence levels.  The intentions of this special recognition program is to be able to give 4-H members a positive experience and gain skills that will help in future job and/or college applications and interviews  Monroe County had 2 Senior Level 4-H Members complete the appropriate support material and attend the interview event.  They were Brooke Scieszinski and Chelsea Tratchel and both were evaluated with extremely high remarks and will be participating at the state level which will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 on the Iowa State University Campus in Ames.  Brooke was awarded in the project area of Communications and is a 7 year member of the Troy Good Homemakers 4-H Club.  Chelsea was awarded in the Beef project area and is a 7 year member of the Troy Troopers 4-H Club.
