The Monroe County 4-H Program is in full swing for enrollment for 2008-2009! 4-H is open to all 4th-12th grade students and Monroe County offers a wide variety of community clubs to join. There is something for all interests from cooking and sewing to target shooting, photography and of course, livestock and pet areas. The 4-H youth development movement provides opportunities for all youth to participate in innovative, fun programs through which they can develop valuable, lifelong skills. 4-H'ers have fun, make new friends, solve problems, learn citizenship and leadership skills and make a difference in their communities every day. Monroe County has a very strong group of caring adult volunteers that give freely of their time and talents and work with the youth through numerous club activities throughout the year. The cost to join is $20.00 and scholarships are available. Enrollments forms are available at the Iowa State University Extension, Monroe County Office at 117 Washington Ave E, Suite 2 in Albia. You can also call (641) 932-5612 to have information mailed to you. Don't miss out on this fun opportunity for your child and your entire family!
