Pheasants Forever Supports Monona County's 4-H SESS Program
ISU, Monona County Extension and Outreach is excited about the Shooting Sports Program that is continuing to grow in Monona County under the leadership of Jerry Rice. The Safety Education in Shooting Sports Program (SESS) is growing in Iowa also showing evidence of a positive impact by providing an opportunity to reach youth with this special interest through targeted training and experiences. In an effort to expand the archery and shot gun programs, Nancy McGrain, 4-H Youth Coordinator, put in a request to Pheasants Forever for financial assistance to purchase some new supplies. They have graciously given the program a check for $1000 to purchase things like archery animal targets and supplies for the shot gun discipline including biodegradable clay targets, ammunition, a clay trap shooter, and a youth shotgun. This money was a match of $1000 from a Monsanto grant. These generous contributions will assist in giving members more opportunities in their learning to be safe in shooting sports and having fun.
