Celebration of Ricochet: The Final Adventure
Parents, grandparents, and community leaders celebrated graduation of Ricochet 3: The Final Adventure with fifteen Monona County youth. The celebration was held at the Onawa Community Center on March 1. Cheri Hardison, ISU Extension Education Director for Monona County stated “The youth who have completed the three levels of leadership training have applied themselves to gain knowledge, understanding of leadership principles, and skills preparing them to make a difference in their communities by taking on leadership roles.” They actively identified and conducted community service and applied what they learned through the ISU Extension leadership program to facilitate and process challenge activities in the third training level. These Ricochet graduates will be involved in delivering future training sessions for new participants of Ricochet: An Extreme Leadership Adventure beginning later this month.
Involvement and support of Monona County businesses, organizations, and community leaders is a critical part of making this program possible and successful. Contact the Monona County Extension Office at 712/423-2175 for more information.
