IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION AND OUTREACH OFFERING SUMMER DAYCAMPS FOR KIDS

ISU Extension and Outreach in Mitchell County is offering kids in kindergarten through 8th grade summer day camp opportunities.  All camps will be from 9 AM- 3 PM. Cost is $15 per camp. Kids must bring a sack lunch, drinks and snacks are provided during the day.
 
Registrations forms are available at the Mitchell County Extension and Outreach office or online at www.extension.iastate.edu/mitchell Registration forms and payment are due to the Extension Office one week prior to camp. Registration is limited to 25 participants and is on a first come, first serve basis.
 
Kindergarten-1st Grade
Insect Adventures- Tuesday,June 10 or Wednesday, June 18. Located at the Milt R. Owen Nature Center, Osage. Creepy, Crawly Fun for K-1. Learn about fascinating insects. Investigate insects up close, play games and make crafts.
 
2nd-3rd Grade
Winging It Up-Bird CampTuesday, June 24 or Wednesday, June 25. Located at the Milt R. Owen Nature Center, Osage. Do you ever wonder….how do birds fly? Do they communicate like us? How do they build a nest? Join us at camp to find the answers. Learn and explore about birds, create a project related to birds and play games.
 
4th-8th Grade
Muffin Mania – Wednesday, July 2nd. Located at United Church of Christ, Osage. Want to make the perfect muffin? Participants will learn properties of common ingredients and why they are needed in baking along with fun activities and games. Yummy Fun!
Art Explosion - Creative fun! Tuesday, July 8th. Located at the Mitchell County Fairgrounds, Osage. Participants will explore their creative side at this camp. There will be a variety of 2-D and 3-D arts and crafts activities they will enjoy!
Food, Fitness & Fun Camp Eat & Play fun! Tuesday, July 15th. Located at the Mitchell County Fairgrounds. Participants will eat and learn about healthy food choices that taste great and participate in a variety of FUN physical activities!
 
5th-8th
Babysitting Clinic Thursday, June 19th. Located at the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach office, Osage. Participants will learn the basics of babysitting, how to entertain kids with activities and learning, safety and responding in an emergency and they will make a babysitting tote to take with them to all their future babysitting jobs!
