Embark on an exhilarating journey with 4-H, a global program captivating the hearts of nearly 6 million young people! Youth can experience 4-H through school and community clubs, in-school and after-school programs, and 4-H camps. 4-H programming focuses on the following program project areas: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Communication and the Arts, Healthy Living, Leadership and Civic Engagement, and STEM. 4-H welcomes youth from various backgrounds and passions in grades K-12 - Clover Kids (grades K-3) and 4-H Clubs (grades 4-12).

Enrolling in your county's 4-H program may involve an enrollment fee. Please contact your local County Extension Office to find out more. Financial assistance for individual enrollment fees is available through the Iowa 4-H Foundation.

What is 4-H?

4-H is a community of 6 million young people across the world who are learning how to live healthily, be strong leaders, become engaged in their communities, and use science and technology to make good decisions for their not only their future, but their community and world's future. 

Why 4-H?

4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults. Membership in a 4-H club provides youth opportunities to develop skills and meaningful relationships they will carry with them throughout their lives. 4-H clubs participate in programming in these four program priority areas:

  • Healthy Living
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
  • Citizenship and Leadership
  • Communication and the Arts

4-H Projects

The opportunities and project areas are endless with 4-H! Mills County 4-H is unique in its offerings of projects like Horseless Horse, Share-A-Sheep, and Trowbridge Calf Class. Not interested in livestock? Not a problem! With projects such as photography, visual arts, welding, woodworking, robotics, rocketry, clothing, and food and nutrition, there's something for everyone!

Enrollment

Enrollment is open now! Once you've selected a club to join, you will need to complete your enrollment in 4-H Online. 4-H Online is the website that all 4-H'ers and families us to maintain records, keep information on your projects, and ID all 4-H animals. Enrollment must be completed and approved in 4-H Online to be an official 4-H member!
 
There is an annual fee of $45.00 per 4-H'er, which goes toward county and state 4-H programming. For the 2023-2024 program year, any returning member that enrolls by November 1st will only be responsible for $25.00! Returning members who enroll after November 1st will be responsible for the full $45.00. Any NEW member for the 2023-2024 program year will only be responsible for $25.00.

There is always financial aid available through the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Fees are not prorated.
