4H Enrollment!  Go to www.4honline.com and select Iowa.  You have an account already if you were in 4H before.  Call if you need help!  You can send in your $32 enrollment fee to the Extension office. 

 

I missed FSQA Class- now what? 

All 4-Hers enrolled in potentially consumable (meaning a food source) animal project MUST be trained or tested on Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA).  
 
4-Hers in grades 7-12 are required to be tested.  Tests will be administered at this training, but can also be done at the MillsCounty Extension Office during regular business hours, or with an appointment.  To arrange for testing, please call the Extension Office at 624-8616.

Did you know that residents of Southwest Iowa (*) spend over 370 million dollars on food annually?  Over 90% of this food is produced in other states and countries.  Are you interested in finding out more about where to find fresh local produce, meats and dairy in our area?  Are you a producer of any of these locally grown foods?  Would you like to have your producer information published in a Local Food guide for Southwest Iowa?

The Mills County Master Gardeners are offering (3) $500 scholarships to high school seniors in Mills County that are planning to study a horticulture related field.   Applications are now being accepted through April 1, 2014.
