Frequently Asked Questions
When will the Mid Life & Beyond Program be available in my county?
The program was launched late fall 2011 and interested counties can continue to register.
What happens once my county is registered?
- A local Study Circles planning group will form in your county to plan local offerings.
- Secondly, the Study Circle planning group will recruit facilitators for local Study Circle discussions.
- The local Study Circle discussions are carried out over a four week period of time, likely in several Study Circles with 10 – 12 participants and two trained facilitators.
- An Action Forum is held to share 3 – 5 action ideas from each Study Circle and the select 2 – 5 action items. Work groups are identified and action begins!
How can I participate?

How can I participate if my county is not a part of the Mid Life & Beyond program this year?
For various reasons some counties may decide not to participate in the program at this time. If you live in one of these counties, reach out to a neighboring county or contact Ruth Freeman, 515-386-3611 to explore possible opportunities.
