Expectations of the Area Directors/Program Directors/Administration

Objective:  Support the mentoring program and mentor/mentee relationships.

Support

  • Empower mentor/mentees to meet the objectives of the mentoring program.
  • Honor confidentiality of issues and respect relationships.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the Mentoring Program Advisor and the Mentoring Program Committee.
  • Advocate for mentoring program to all staff, administrative team and on campus.
  • Help the Extension mentoring program become world class.

Resources

  • Allow sufficient time for mentors/mentees to meet.
  • Endorse use of existing resources (mileage, phone, meals, etc.) for mentors/mentees.
  • Provide additional financial support for mentoring program.
  • Access internal and external expertise as needed.

Recognition

  • Acknowledge mentor/mentee participation in the program.
  • Recognize mentor/mentee participation as a part of performance appraisal.
