Expectations of the Area Directors/Program Directors/Administration
Objective: Support the mentoring program and mentor/mentee relationships.
Support
- Empower mentor/mentees to meet the objectives of the mentoring program.
- Honor confidentiality of issues and respect relationships.
- Provide ongoing feedback to the Mentoring Program Advisor and the Mentoring Program Committee.
- Advocate for mentoring program to all staff, administrative team and on campus.
- Help the Extension mentoring program become world class.
Resources
- Allow sufficient time for mentors/mentees to meet.
- Endorse use of existing resources (mileage, phone, meals, etc.) for mentors/mentees.
- Provide additional financial support for mentoring program.
- Access internal and external expertise as needed.
Recognition
- Acknowledge mentor/mentee participation in the program.
- Recognize mentor/mentee participation as a part of performance appraisal.
