About

History
The Iowa Master Equine Manager (MEM) Program was designed and implemented in 2005 by two Iowa State University Extension field staff members, Dale Miller and Glen Easter. They developed the pilot program in response to the educational needs of horse owners and horse enthusiasts from throughout Iowa. As program coordinators, they were responsible for scheduling the Master Equine Manager (MEM) training sessions, securing instructors and assuring the training activities and materials were current, accurate, and available for all training sites.

Purpose
To provide horse owners and enthusiasts with a comprehensive educational program that teaches the science of horse management. The Master Equine Manager program combines focused learning opportunities and discussion with hands-on experience.
