Iowa teachers and other educators are invited to “Take a Jump into Financial Literacy” July 16 at the 15th Annual Conference for Personal Financial Literacy sponsored by Iowa Jump$tart. The free conference runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the FFA Enrichment Center at DMACC in Ankeny.

For 14 years, Teen Line has given Iowa teens a place to get their questions answered with reliable and research-based information through anonymous phone calls or online chats. Teen Line answers questions ranging from health and wellness to relationships to sexually transmitted diseases. This hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Iowans have a chance to brush up on money management skills during Money Smart Week, April 18-25, 2015.

Safety and stress during harvest season cannot be ignored, says Margaret Van Ginkel, an Iowa State University Extension and Outreach human sciences program specialist and Iowa Concern Hotline coordinator. Contact Iowa Concern Hotline to talk or chat online with stress counselors, seek out legal education and other appropriate resources.

Iowans have a chance to brush up on their money management skills during Money Smart Week April 5-12, 2014. Financial institutions, government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and community groups have teamed up to offer a full week of events designed to help Iowans of all ages better manage their finances.

Margaret Van Ginkel, coordinator for Iowa Concern hotline – a service made available through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, recommends actions that help prevent stress from taking over your life. Most important is to talk out your problems.
