4-H Youth Development empowers children (K – 3) and youth (4 – 12) to reach their full potential by working and learning in partnership with caring adults.  4-H positive youth development programming provides opportunities for young people to become competent, caring, contributing, confident, and connected citizens with character. Youth camps, trips, and scholarships are also available.

    • 4-H enrollment fee for 2014-2015 is $20.

4-H HyperStream Group seeks 7th – 8th grade Members           

NEW DATE - First Meeting Thursday, October 16

No cost to participate.
Seventh and eighth graders are invited to start a new adventure with the 4-H HyperStream Technology Group!  Youth interested in technology, multimedia, robotics, photography, game design, science, and more will love this club! 
 
The first meeting will be Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the Marshalltown Miller Middle School, Room 252.  Regular meetings will be every Thursday at the same time and location.   Parent informational meeting will be at 5:00 p.m. October 16 in Room 252.  
 
To participate, complete enrollment forms either in 4-H On-line or use the enrollment, medical release and code of ethics forms above and bring to the meeting. Parent and youth signatures required on forms. No cost to participate.

Come on out to the Central Iowa Fairgrounds on April 18th for the 2nd Annual Clover 5k Run/Walk! All proceeds go towards the Marshall County 4-H Foundation and the Central Iowa Fair to help with 4-H fees and improvements to the fair.

Each year the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame honors a person from each Iowa county by inducting them into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. Nominations are being accepted at the Marshall County Extension office for persons you feel have made a significant contribution to the Marshall County 4-H program, both current and past supporters.

Marshall County ISU Extension and Outreach, along with Pilgrim Heights, will be having its 2nd Annual Citizenship/Leadership Camp! The purpose of this camp is to help youth develop citizenship and leadership skills. Pilgrim Heights Camp & Retreat Center, under the direction of Our Sacred Space, Inc. has attained an American Camp Association Accrediation, which means the camp you will be attending cares enough to undergo thorough review of all operations.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sleep near wild animals?  5th and 6th grade 4-H members from five counties (Boone, Greene, Hardin, Marshall & Story) are invited to participate in a campout at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska on Friday, May 29th through Saturday, May 30th.  4-H’ers will sleep near the animals and experience the Henry Doorly Zoo in a fun new way!     They will experience the Lozier IMAX Theater.  The screen is as tall as four giraffes and as wide as seven rhinos.  There are six speakers that each weigh as much as a Siberian Tiger.  You won’t want to miss this!   For registration information, please contact your local ISU Extension Office.  For trip questions, please contact Natalie Hedlund at natm@iastate.edu or (515) 432-3882.
