: Linking Literacy with Food

  • 09/24/2014 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

: Early reading and language development helps kids be "school ready" and greatly increases their chance for academic success. A great way to introduce literacy is to link reading to food! This class will share well-loved children's books and food related activities to use with children, along with physical activities too. Learn new ways to connect with children as we explore literacy strategies to use with great books including: Bread and Jam for Frances, Growing Vegetable Soup, Pancakes, Pancakes and No More Germs Please, to name a few. Come to the Marshall County Extension Office on September 24 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. This program is listed through the DHS online registry and will provide you with 2 hours of nutrition education credit for the food program. Be sure to call the Marshall County Extension office at 641-752-1551 to reserve your seat. Registration is $10 per person.
