Local Foods Community Capacity Building Workshop

Who Should Attend

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach staff, Regional Food Systems Working Group leaders and community local food advocates.

Schedule and locations

At each location the program begins with a light lunch served at noon. The program concludes at 4:00 pm.

Monday, April 1

Buena Vista County Extension Office, 824 Flindt Drive, Storm Lake, IA

Buchanan County Extension Office, 2600 Swan Lake Blvd., Independence, IA

 Wednesday, April 3

Johnson County Extension Office, 3109 Old Highway 218 S., Iowa City, IA

 Thursday, April 4

Marshall County Extension Office, 2608 S. 2nd Street, Marshalltown, IA

 

Registration

There is no cost to attend this program. However, advance registration is required to assist with meal counts and materials preparation. Deadline for registration for all locations is midnight, March 29, 2013.Register online at www.aep.iastate.edu/localfoods

Travel scholarships

We encourage participants to “carpool” to this event. Iowa S.A.R.E. will reimburse the roundtrip mileage for one vehicle from each of the 17 Regional Food System Working Groups to attend one of the four meetings. To apply, please email Linda Naeve at lnaeve@iastate.edu. In the Subject area of the e-mail, write “local foods scholarship” and include your region number.
