Iowa State University Extension offers a free online course to help people get a grip on their money. The course - "Take Control of Your Money" - is a 7-step process that covers spending habits, getting out of debt, and increasing savings. The course can be started at any time, requires a 3 to 4 month commitment to record keeping, and provides a free learning coach via e-mail if desired.
